Over the last ywo years Brighton duo the Freemasons have become one of the most in demand remix and production teams in dance music. Some of the biggest artists in the world have been clamouring for their golden touch and it’s rare to find a dance compilation that doesn’t feature at least one of their releases. Their infectious debut, the anthemic ‘Love On My Mind’, has become synonymous with the sort of nights that leave you still smiling at sunrise. Whether it’s pumping out of a car stereo or a club soundsystem, Amanda Wilson’s smoky vocals and that riff combine to create an instantly recognisable classic.

Their follow up ‘Watchin’ also featuring Amanda Wilson was also a top 20 hit in the UK and a huge club hit across the world. Even up until the beginning of the summer of 2006 their remix credentials were impressive, including Faith Evans, Jamiroquai, Fatboy Slim, Blaze, Studio B, Herd & Fitz, Luther Vandross, Heather Headley and Angie Stone. Then came the call from Beyonce’s label with a request to remix the debut single from her new album Bday. When Beyonce heard the Freemasons mix of ‘Déjà Vu’ she apparently was overhelmed and exclaimed “Oh my God I LOVE this mix”. So did it seems everyone else, including Radio 1 who opted to play the Freemasons version instead of the original, helping it to become no.1 in the UK charts for Beyonce. Beyonce immediately asked for Freemasons to remix the follow up ‘Ring The Alarm’ and a song from her forthcoming ‘Dreamgirls’ soundtrack.

The Freemasons had already planned their debut album ‘Shakedown’ to be a combination of original new material and their best remix work and now their double CD ‘Shakedown’ has an impressive cross section of vocalists that’s enough to make the best producers in the world envious.

‘Shakedown’ is out now and includes a staggering 33 tracks (including 5 full length mp3's) all of which have been given the Freemasons golden touch in one way or another. Freemasons are also celebrating their third top 20 hit with 'Rain Down Love' making them the most successful current UK dance act. Click below to watch the 'Rain Down Love' video...
